Mystery of Grace

My breath is not my own
I do not even know how my hair is grown
I eat and it digests itself
There's something in man that's a mystery to himself
God formed man from dust and breathed life
Without struggle, effortless without strife
In the human body is productivity
Unrivalled, unequalled efficiency
The ability for the body to function without instruction
It is the same grace God gives to bless HIS own without permission
Therefore in attracting grace, I must be in HIS body
To align my thoughts and actions to be worthy
To seek and know the purpose for which I was created
To be a vessel and let the name of Jesus be exalted

Dear Holy Spirit

Dear Holy Spirit
I feel you even as I sit
My teacher, my partner, my advisor
When I am confused, you are my instructor
Many times; you take over my prayers
Presenting my thanksgiving in tongues that gladden the father
You are profound, you are faithful
Your voice, soft, soothing, tells me the future is bountiful
You feel my heart with peace when the world is in disarray
You keep me on the right path; you won’t let me go astray
I cherish your company, my mentor, God’s wisdom
You have brought me out of filth to God’s kingdom
To a place where my life gets better by the day and my tomorrow is better than my today
You are awesome, you are beautiful, I am lost for words to say

SAVE ME

Save me from me
From pride when I am wealthy

Save me from my foolishness
From thinking that I can do anything by myself, when in fact I am powerless

Save me from greed and lust
From satisfying my flesh without counting the cost

Save me from religion
To think that routine attracts your presence in my opinion

Save me from selfishness
To always know that everything I have is yours and protect me from covetousness

Save me from slothfulness and mediocrity
From thinking that I have reached my peak and destiny

Save me from men
From ascribing your glory to me, a mere mortal, dust, not more useful than a pen

Save me from me, save me from flesh, save me!
